#7516 European Hand Hooked Rug

This first-quarter 20th century or earlier European hand hooked rug measures 111 X 20 ( 338 X 609 cm). This is one of the loveliest rugs I have ever owned. This rug is done in the Sultanabad motif. It has a large overall floral design in a few shades of green, a few shades of blue, cordovan, ivory, dusty rose, maroon, brown, and camel, all on the most beautiful deep coral ground. The major border has serrated leafs and flowers on a wide navy blue ground encompassed by two minor borders. The first minor border consists of leafs and hooks on a tobacco brown ground. The next pair of reciprocal minor borders consist of cartouches filled with three pedal flowers on a variegated blue -green ground. This carpet is in essentially full pile mint condition. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. If this rug was a true Sultanabad it would push $100,000. This is really a very beautiful rug.  Please pardon the photo as the rug seems to get darker and narrower at the end. It does not. Due to the very long size it was very hard to photograph properly. The buyer pays the shipping including insurance of $300.
