#7301 Laver Kerman
This circa 1920 Laver Kerman measures 97 X 133.
This is what they call a crowded Kerman. It is
completely covered in design. It has a central
medallion composed of a ring of flowers around a four pointed star surrounded by a leafy
garland. This is working against a backdrop of
vines, weeping willows, and flowers, flowers, flowers.
This rug is so overdrawn that one cannot put two fingers together and place
them anywhere on this rug without touching design. The
rug has several colors of blue from pale sky blue to navy blue, innumerable shades of red
from pink to maroon, and greens from pale yellow green to the color of spinach. This rug has it all!
All is encompassed with a medium blue border with flower heads such as
peonies, chrysanthemums and roses interspersed with the cloudband motif. There are three sets of her reciprocal minor
borders, one on a green ground, one with a pink ground and one with an ivory ground. The ends and sides are complete. This rug is full pile. It is extremely finely
woven. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer
pays shipping with insurance of $125.00.
