#7295 Peking Chinese Rug This circa 1900 Peking Chinese rug measures 116 X 146. It has a milk chocolate field with various Buddhist iconographies such as the beribboned scrolls and the writing desk spread throughout the field. It has a center medallion consisting of the flaming pearl in blue being pursued by two dragons. This is very well drawn. The corner motifs are foliated dragons with white tongues and white eyes. The minor border has a cloud variation in brown and ivory on a navy blue ground. The major border is sky-blue with the unique motif of facing dragon heads in navy blue and at each end of a stem gives rise to an elephant head motif as seen from above complete with brown ears, tusks, and trunk. These are serving the purpose of leafs and flowers on this dragon vine. All is encompassed with an apron the same color as the field. The rug is full pile. It has extremely soft fine wool. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays shipping with insurance of $175.00. Contact: Robert Mosby 941-925-1025
