#7260 Peking Chinese Rug

This late 19^th century Peking Chinese Oriental carpet measures 9’1” x 11’7” (277.36cm X 356.61cm). It has a central medallion in the form of a wreath of flowers in two colors of blue on an ivory ground.  There are 20 sprays of flowers in three colors of blue and butterflies scattered about the ivory field.   The corners are done in Chinese fretwork with large flowers and vines.  The rug has two borders.  The minor inner border is on an ivory ground with scrolling vines and flowers.  The outer major border is in navy blue with ivory and peach flowers, vines, and bunches of grapes.  The rug shows slight wear in the ivory field.  The ends and sides are complete and original.  This rug is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $100.00.
