#7205 Peking Chinese Rug This circa 1890 Peking Chinese Oriental Rug measures 9’2’ X 11’9”. It has a navy blue field with an urn of flowers in white and pale blue and two hanging tasseled endless knots serving as the medallion. Six pairs of flower filled urns make up the field motif. The rug has very nicely worked corners with a basket of flowers and a pair of flags making up the design. It has a minor ivory border with a meandering vine and flower design. It has a double major border in lighter blue with a floral motif of meandering flower garlands. The outer darker blue border consists of flower sprays and garlands with birds flying about and sitting on the branches. The rug is full pile and simply gorgeous. The ends and sides are complete.
