#7140 Kansu
This mid 19th century Kansu measures 24 X
40. It has a center medallion in pale red with corners worked in two colors of
red with floral motifs on a pale mustard ground with a very tiny repeated motif in red and
brown. The minor border is a pearl motif on a blue ground. The major border is a 3D
Chinese fretwork in red, blue, yellow and ivory on a red ground all encompassed with a
medium blue outer border,. The rug shows wear as photographed. The pile is generally full
except as shown. This is a very calm and interesting little early piece. The buyer pays
the shipping with insurance of 40.00.
