#  7072 Kermanshah

This circa 1880 antique   Kermanshah measures 9'2" x 12'10". It has a beautifully drawn large pulled medallion in pale green, cherry and navy blue on an ivory ground.  It has well worked corners in a floral motif in maroon, ivory and green.  The main border has large floral motifs in maroon, cherry, peach, ivory, and green which are all very much crowded together which is unusual for this type of rug.   They’re usually much looser.  All this is on a navy blue ground.  It has four minor borders in the form of two reciprocals.  The inner two borders are meandering flower heads on a peach ground.  The two outer minor borders are meandering flower heads on her maroon ground.  This is an interesting combination.  There is a band of wear along the outermost 2 inches of the field, as seen in the image.  There is hit or miss wear throughout the rug, mostly confined to the borders.  Even with this the rug is 90% full pile.  It is a stunning rug which would make any room!  The ends and sides are intact.  The rug is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of $125.00.
