This circa 1915 Sarouk measures 4'4" X 6'9". It is a
red painted Sarouk with an overall floral design on a maroon ground. It has a blue border
containing flower heads in cartouches in sky blue, rose, red, ivory and gold. An
interesting variation in this Sarouk , which I have never seen before, isthat surrounding the field there is another border
of botehs which face each other with flowers between them. Very interesting. This rug is
very finely woven. It is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is in mint
condition. The selvedges have never even been opened up. The rug is absolutely perfect.
