#6980 Antique Kula This first-half 19th century antique Kula possibly Mudjar measures 39 x 50. It has a nice madder red prayer field with sky-blue spandrels which carry over to the wide apple design border. This is a motif very popular in early 19th century rugs. The minor border is missing at both ends. The sides are complete. The crossbars have an interesting design of small images which appear to be robots. The best thing about this rug (besides its wonderful condition) is the fantastic borders. They are utterly magnificent. Without a doubt some of the most beautiful designs and colors. The blue is to die for. This rug may have condition problems but it is almost 200 years old. The buyer pays the shipping of $50.00. |
