#6920 Peking Chinese Rug
This circa 1900 antique Peking Chinese rug measures 9’11” X
11’8”. It has a navy blue field with the medallion of a nicely drawn house by a
rockery in the lake with a hump back bridge crossing.
There are trees and flowers in the background in several colors of blue, peach and
mocha latté. The rug is encompassed with a lovely double border in pale camel and mocha
latte with meandering vines and flower motif. Spaced
around the border are various orbs containing different images of Chinese icons. This is a very Ningxia feature, not often seen in
this type of rug. I cannot stress to much the
condition of the carpet. It is made of the
