#6897 Laver Kerman

This circa 1890 Laver Kerman measures 4’4” X 6’8”. It has a tree of life motif on an ivory ground with deep red spandrels.  There is a pair of birds in the tree and a pair of peacock facing each other at the base of the tree with large blue tails.  The tree base sits on a crossbar in a lovely deep saturated green filled with birds and flowers.  The ivory border is composed of pairs of goats looking at each other and pairs of birds with their backs to each other, separated by a floral motif combined with a meandering vine.  The reciprocals are a lovely well drawn floral motif in deep yellow on a sky blue ground.  There is some erosion in the brown at the top of the prayer niche composing the upper branches.  This is caused by dye erosion not wear.  Otherwise, the rug is full pile.  The ends and sides are complete.  It is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays a shipping $55.00.
