#6860 Mandarin Art Deco Chinese Rug
This circa 1920 Art Deco
Chinese rug measures 42 X 610. This is a Mandarin Chinese rug made
of Manchester spun wool. These were the finest
quality rugs made during this period. The field motif is hanging lanterns in all four
corners suspended from flowering trees, all enclosed with a pure deep purple border
containing Chinese iconographys such as paint brushes, scrolls, chop marks or
shui, inkpot with ribbons and flowering urns. The colors are deep indigo, two
shades of light blue, pale green, yellow gold, and orange.
The rug is essentially mint condition. It
is full pile. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping of $50.00.
