#6846 Afshar
This Afshar measures 5’0” X 5’8”. It is signed in three places and dated 1903 (1321 Arabic). It has a tomato red field with two half bouquets of carnations in light blue with backgrounds of brown, red, yellow and seafoam green. It has various floral motifs and chevrons in the field. The corners are very well worked with a floral motif in seafoam green and brown. It has an ivory major border with meandering flower head design. The reciprocal borders have a dark blue ground with flowers separated by leafs in ivory, green and red. The rug shows a very minor low spot near the half carnation motif near the top of the rug. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is 99% full pile. It is clean and ready to go. This is a beautiful little antique rug in a nice size. The buyer pays to shipping a $50.00.
