#6808 Peking Art Deco Chinese Rug
This circa 1900 Peking weave Art Deco Chinese Oriental rug measures
3’ 0” x 4’ 6”. It has a
navy blue field with two well drawn phoenix birds circling, encompassed with a gray
border. The border design is very interesting with large floral motifs in the corners
coming into the field in pink, blue, ivory, black, and dark blue; each containing a blue
and gray bird coming in from the sides. There
is foliage growing from a rockery on a symbolic lake which contains two bluebirds and a
gray bird with its wing spread. This rug shows
some slight wear as photographed. It is full
pile and except as photographed. All in all this is a very nice and attractive rug. The buyer pays the shipping $50.00.
