#6792 Peking Chinese Rug
This circa 1910 Peking Chinese rug measures 8 ‘5” x 11’ 9 “. It has a yellow to butternut colored field with a central medallion of two Foo Lions chasing each other in blue and pale brown around a green rockery. The field motif is scattered blossoms and flowering sprigs in yellow, pink, red, blue, and green. All is very beautifully drawn. The corners are worked with blossoms and fretwork. The minor border is a variation of Greek key design. The major border has a tobacco colored ground with flowers and various animals, birds, cats, deer, a rabbit, and a dragon. This rug is in mint condition. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping of $125.00.
