#6781 Art Deco Chinese Rug This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 9 0 x 11 9 . The field has a nice grouping of flowers in the center. There are butterflies in each of the four quadrants and bats, the Chinese symbol for good luck, in opposite corners. The corners are worked in vases of flowers. All is encompassed with a minor border in lavender, and a major border in emerald green. The border motif is giant palm fronds growing out of rockeries in each corner. There are yellow, lavender, purple and green birds flitting about. There are well drawn butterflies, and small bats. The entire design moves in and out of the field. The rug shows wear, but not much. The buyer pays the shipping of $100.00.
