#6730 Art Deco Chinese Rug This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 9 ‘ 2” x 11’ 9 “. It has a nicely drawn rockery at the base of the rug in purple, fuchsia, green and blue out of which is growing a red barked cherry tree with palm fronds in silver, purple, lavender and green. In the lower corner there are fronds in which sit a very well drawn phoenix bird staring up at another phoenix bird perched on a branch in the midst of the blossoms. All this action is taking place on a beautiful mustard colored field, all enclosed with a gold border filled with gigantic flowers such as peonies, chrysanthemums, lotus flowers and cherry blossoms in purple, on the magenta, ivory, lilac, and green with huge leaves moving in and out of the field. This rug is 99% full pile. It is clean and ready to go. The ends and sides are complete. This is a beautiful rug in a fantastic design. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of $100.00. |
