#6701 Art Deco Chinese
This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 8’10” X
11’7”. It is a Mandarin Chinese rug with a mauve colored field with a very
interesting center medallion of an elongated wreath of flowers with a Chinese lantern in
the center. Scattered throughout the field are beautifully drawn butterflies in oranges,
purple, blue, and greens. All the butterflies are different from each other. Opposite
corners contain blue orbs filled with tranquil scenes of houses, boats, trees and rocks
surrounded with a wreath of flowers. The inner border is a medium green and the outer
border is a striking bittersweet orange with fantastic large blossoms growing into the
field with butterflies and water scenes. All in all, this is a fantastic rug. The rug is
full pile.The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the
