#6687 Peking Chinese rug

This late 19th century Peking Chinese rug measures 8’10” X 11’5”. It has an ivory field and nicely worked corners of lotus blossoms and vines. The central medallion consists of a wreath of peonies encompassing an eight pointed star. Scattered throughout the field are different shaped containers holding flowers. The inside border is Greek key on an ivory ground. The next border is meandering vines on a light blue ground. The outer main border has meandering vines in blue on an ivory ground. The rug shows very slight wear which is not very apparent because it is confined in the ivory. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of 125.00.
