#6653 Ladik This mid 19th century Turkish Ladik measures 311 X 511. The prayer niche has a very strange design. The four pairs of triangles give the niche a very squeezed look like a Melez. This is an optical illusion which I find interesting. The tulips are at the bottom of the rug instead of the top. The field color is a nice tomato red. The spandrels are an attractive blue green. The border is a bird motif. It is very asymmetric. This is a very nice example of an antique Ladik. The rug has good pile. It has problems at the ends. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of 40.00.
