#6555 Art Deco Chinese Rug This circa 1930 Art Deco Chinese Oriental rug measures 811 X 118. This rug is so blue it is almost black. It has a huge center medallion of phoenix birds chasing each other inside of a garland of flower heads and vines. Each corner is ¼ of a complete circle consisting of a deer lying down with a quarter garland of flower heads and leafs in a double row above them. There are only two borders on the rug (it was woven that way) consisting of flower heads, vines and leafs. The only true border on the rug is a double wide row of knots in orange. The design in this rug is in two colors of orange and a light camel hair. The rug would complement primitive American, Pennsylvania Dutch or Amish style décor. The wool is like velvet and the rug is 99% mint condition. The ends and sides are intact. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of 125.00.
