#6546 Peking Art Deco Chinese
Runner
This circa 1900 Peking weave Art Deco Chinese Oriental runner measures
3’2” X 8’7”. It has a deep burnt orange/red field with a minor gray
border. The major border is a paler burnt orange. This is an impossible size to find and
has a very charming scene. The bottom has a house on an island with two large trees in blue, green and gray on a rocky
ground. Traveling upwards over a shimmering lake we come to a boat in full sail in blue
and ivory heading towards an island with two pagodas and large trees in blue/green,
yellow/gold and rust connected to the border with a little humpback bridge. Farther along
this scenic waterway we come to another little sailboat heading towards the customs shed
which is flying flags to show it is open. We end at the top of the rug at a rocky
coastline. This rug is in essentially mint condition and over 100 years old. The buyer
pays the shipping and insurance of 75.00.
