#6449 Antique Kuba This circa 1850 Kuba measures 3’8” x 4’9”. It is a
fantastic and essentially mint condition Kuba for its age. This beauty has 14 diagonal
rows of a very abstract flower motif in ivory, light blue, peach, green, red and dark
blue. Each design is just a little bit different, with no two alike. They are drawn in a
diamond grid with a cube split four ways at each point, all on an ivory ground. All four
borders are different diamonds and triangles with a cross hatched design on a rose ground.
The outer border is very asymmetric also with flower motif in yellow, rose, blue and red
on a sky blue ground. This is one of the most exciting Kubas I have ever seen. The
asymmetric elements are really wonderful and the rug is essentially perfect. It does have
some repairs to it. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of 100.00.
