#6158 & 6159 Quashquai Saddlebags This is a set of circa 1860 Quashki Saddlebags each measures 1’11” X 1’11”. These are the only ones I have ever seen like this with partial weaving on the back. It has a peach diamond latchhook medallion and rhomboids on a dark blue ground. It has an ivory border with a meandering vine design. The bags retain their original closures of loops and slits which are done in a nice Sumak technique. The back weaving has a very well saturated green and natural brown. The edges of the bags are worked in a multi colored wrapping. The pile is good and all original. The buyer pays the shipping and insurance of 40.00.
