#2174 Tekke Saddle

This 19th century Tekke Saddle measures 4’2” x 5’8”. I bought this is 1987 from an Afghan. When I bought this he had a Russian book printed in 1905 of some Russians that went to central Asia on an ethnographic study of these people. If I could remember the book I could probably get 10 times the money. The image of this saddle had a Tekke Khan sitting on it and the image was circa 1880. It is made of silk and silver backed with felt and the lining is what we would call bed ticking. I have never seen anything like this so that right there proves it is extremely rare. The cover has been obviously used and as far as I am concerned this could be the same saddle that is in that image.
